The ancient people of the wild, Elves possess pointed ears, lithe frames, and incredible lifespans. Crafted of wind and wood, the elves are gifted in magic, archery, and wildcrafts. They all have a deep connection to nature, and have a racial enmity against orcs and goblins. They do not get along well with dwarves. A sect of dark elves, the Drow, went underground after a civil split and have since been at perpetual war with the surface elves. Elves age at a very slow pace, reaching maturity around 110 and only showing true aging beyond 600. As they truly age, elves begin to lose color and vivacity, eventually becoming pale, quiet shades of their former selves. The upper limit to their lifespan is not known, but they eventually sink into long periods of meditation, interspersed with small activity less and less as time goes on.
Pale-skinned and tall, the high elves are the most populous race of elves. They inhabit the largest cities, and are the most likely to interact with other humanoids. They are magically gifted, and value swordfighting, archery, and art. Often arrogant and haughty, they often get stereotyped as posh and rude. Not all high elves are so abrasive, as some are kind, inquisitive, or downright goofy.
