The Kingdom Breaker

The Lady of Rains is a goddess of madness and discord, were she not Vorn's betrothed it is doubtless only the most misanthropic and listless hangers on would be the followers of her. She appears always as a noble woman of the highest class and wealth bracket of an area, her face always veiled as to hide her forked snake like tongue. Yet you know she is so beautiful. She seems to be amicable, relatable and likeable and that's where she entraps you. She and her presence begin to whisper in your ear of all the paranoias and fears you have about others, and feed into all of your worst delusions causing you to break the tightest of bonds with your friends and family. Doing so gives her the most sublime pleasure. She is why the petty squabbles of the rich and powerful never seem to mend and always turn into blood feuds and violent seizures of power. The poor cannot replicate such drama, their stories are far more sad and less explosive. This world is her drama and she enjoys every sordid act. Prayers to Vorn are regularly made by those in power to curb the ambitions of his wife, thus consolidating more power into his worship, and so he will turn a blind ear every so often to let the cycle perpetuate. Thus it is mutually beneficial to them to be wedded. Furthermore noble families not in power often pray to her for the downfall of others that way it can be their turn for the fifteen minutes of power. The poor occasionally pray to her in order to perhaps move upward once the current rulers get slammed down into the chasm of destitution and ruin. Rumor has it that she fostered a son with Vorn. This cannot be verified as neither Vorn nor the Lady will ever confirm it.
