In Londe the gods are present and capricious. There is nothing to stop the gods from visiting the Prime Material and staying there. This has led to a great deal of divine politicking and wars between the gods in order to keep the whole world from being a desolate wasteland. The larger good and evil gods likely aren't on the prime material for fear of being interfered with by their rivals and has led to very devout follower base.
