The Molten God

"Toil. Pray. Prosper. Rejoice."

Ogryn is rumored to be the first human to have found gold deep in the caves of Vorovia and smithed it into gold coin with Vorn's blessing of artifice. Such a distinction made him incredibly prominent in Vorovian society due to this new wealth he had not experienced mining iron simply for the blessings of Vorn. This wealth drove him and all he did. He became incredibly popular to certain unscrupulous sort who would do anything he wanted for just a bit of the new shiny currency that was starting to begin to take hold on the streets of Vornheim. This would continue on for years, nay, decades. As a result he was able to afford significant luxury and made his palatial estate begin to ascend to the heavens, not in a rusty brown but in glittering gold, a monument to opulence and decadence. It was in this mammoth construction amongst gilded halls that Ogryn began amassing a cult of personality that lived within the belly of the golden beast. All it took was giving up everything to Ogryn. How magnanimous. Vorn was unhappy, how could some mortal challenge his cathedral and his palace. It was blasphemy of the highest order. Vorn needed to quell this threat to his power. He had to in spectacular and violent fashion. It was the only way. Vorn interrupted one of Ogryn's great sermons he held in the belly of his sprawling compound, a vat of molten gold the altar to which all things will be sacrificed. Vorn made his action swift and deliberate, taking the portly, greedy, imp of a person and submerged him in the shining metal. This killed the mortal body of Ogryn near instantly, the estate destroyed in the aftermath of the slaughter, crimson blood staining the golden halls. What Vorn could not have known is that this act of martyrdom caused Ogryn to ascend and gain divine power, becoming a molten god of gold and wealth. The bleeding gold a prized sign of Ogryn's favor now.

Needless to say, Ogryn's allegiances are complex and varied, Ogryn himself is almost assuredly Neutral Evil. He has a love hate relationship with Vorn, who did massacre him and his original followers. However, Vorn is also responsible for his ascent to godhood. Ogryn's most prized followers are the ones who kick a piece of the action upstairs for favors and retribution against others. Any favor shown by the god is shown as divine credit and any bane as divine debt that people must pay to Ogryn or face his wrath. His temples are well staffed, clean, and precise treasuries of the deeds and perceived sins of others. Every transaction meticulously accounted for. If your credit is good enough, it's okay to splurge after all, if you spurn Ogryn too much though, life may become rather difficult. His holy symbol is a coin with a smiling man inscribed on it.
